Forensics and Security Management Interest Group Click HERE for more information and to rsvp. This is a Members Only event. IAPSC Interest Groups In order to increase networking opportunities by area of specialty, the IAPSC Board of Directors is proud to introduce IAPSC Interest Groups. The Interest Groups will facilitate member relationship-building across areas of specialty and interest. They will provide new opportunities for IAPSC members to survey the needs of the membership in their specialized areas and discuss current topics, best practices and guidelines, challenges members are experiencing, and trends in the industry. These groups may also be a forum for collaborating on working group projects, seminars, and networking activities. Each Interest Group will schedule quarterly 1-hour web-based audio/video conference calls, each with a specific agenda established in advance. Members will have the opportunity to call in and participate either by phone only or by audio/video connection via the Internet. The Interest Groups being introduced are: • Cybersecurity (Jim Kelton and Michael Bacon, co-chairs) Initial topics to be covered: NIST cyber security framework, security and privacy controls for federal information systems and organizations, data breaches, and international security considerations. • Forensics and Security Management (Ken Wheatley and Norman Bates, co-chairs) At the kickoff meeting for this new Interest Group there will be a discussion to determine areas of interest that the Group can address for professional development and consulting/forensic needs. • Security Design and Engineering (Rene Rieder, Jr., Chair). The first audio/video conference call meeting of this Group takes place on Friday, September 18 at 9AM Pacific Time/12 NOON Eastern/5PM UK.
