The International Association of Professional Security Consultants, Inc. is the most widely respected and recognized security consultant association in the industry. Its rigid membership requirements allow potential clients to select from a unique group of professional, ethical and competent security consultants. IAPSC members are not affiliated with any product or service they may recommend.

In 1984, under the leadership of independent security consultant Charles Sennewald and with the support of Security World Magazine and the International Security Conference (ISC), 17 interested parties representing all parts of the United States met for a founding meeting at the Barnabey Hotel in El Segundo, California.

The IAPSC is committed to providing a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for all persons, regardless of gender, race, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, political orientation, genetic information, age, familial status, military status, domestic violence victim status, or any other personal characteristic/attributes.

The IAPSC By-Laws established by the IAPSC Board of Directors are a set of rules that govern how IAPSC operates.  The By-Laws cover the structure of the association, titles, responsibilities, and qualifications of the officers, how and when meetings are held, voting, duties of the members, etc. The IAPSC By-Laws can be found in their entirety by going to the Members Section of the website.

The IAPSC has created the Certified Security Consultant designation for professional, independent security consultants. CSC certification is the recognized standard for Security Consultants and is a marker of a high level of professionalism, knowledge, professional objectivity, and integrity.
