The session bridges the gap between criminological theories and the practical application of these theories in the real world. IAPSC members will learn:
- Advanced methods for conducting crime risk assessments (e.g. Crime Rates, Temporal Analysis, Spatial Analysis, Crime Thresholds, Crime Harm Index, etc.) to gain a deeper understanding of the unique nature of crime at our client’s facilities
- The criminology theories that drive the security industry and our crime prevention efforts and the methods for operationalizing those theories in the real world
- How to optimize our client’s security programs using evidence-based techniques
Karim H. Vellani has been a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) since 2002 and served as President of the IAPSC in 2008. He currently chairs the IAPSC’s Evidence-Based Security Practices Committee.
